A Couple Software Issues
A laptop can have many software issues ranging from faulty code written by software developers to software issues that are caused by hardware inside the computer. A perfect example would be RAM. Also known as random access memory. Without RAM you would be unable to use the laptop or computer due to it not having memory to process any tasks or actions made by the user.
Slowdowns, viruses and loading failures.
What is this issue?
These are some of the most easily recognizable problems, since every laptop user is familiar with the speed and time duration that his or her machine works at on a daily basis. You could also get an error message when you try to load certain programs. There may be file system errors or your laptop could be corrupted by virus or malware attacks. Inadequate memory space is another common issue in laptops which leads to a slowdown. “RAM”. A dangerous type of a virus could be a Trojan Horse. But first what is a Trojan Horse. A Trojan horse is a program in which malicious or harmful code is contained inside an apparent harmless program. A Trojan horse can control and do its chosen form of data damage. Such as stealing personal information and details. This image below shows a high usage of RAM. Ram is used when programs are opened. Programs such as adobe photoshop have and require a high intensive amount of RAM. Although you have 4 gigabytes of ram it will do its job but if you had 8 gigabytes of ram it would be significantly quicker and faster to process images in photoshop. The CPU usage stands for "central processing unit". All CPU's have a certain amount of cores as well as processing speed. The higher the ghz the quicker processing power. Th more cores means you can have multiple things open without the performence being dragged down. Resolving this issue
To resolve issues regarding slowdowns and loading failures you could run the laptop’s virus scanner to remove viruses and spyware. Malware also known as worms can use up a laptop’s CPU resource and slowly start to have an effect on the laptop’s performance such as the speed and processing rate. A method of resolving a slow laptop or computer can be a disk defragmenter. A disk defrag is a program that increases access speed by rearranging files stored on a disk to occupy contiguous storage locations. Laptop Error Messages
What is this issue?
If you're getting these, make a note of the exact number and wording of the message so that you can convey this to your technician and they will be prepared with the right solution when they arrive to help you. Resolving this issue If you get an error message then you should copy down the error that pops up onto the screen. Below is a picture of a laptop program error message. This error message is a result of possibly both the user installing the program or the developer missing a .dll. A .dll is an extension file that stands for dynamic link library which is used externally for a program. If any .dll's are missing, using the application can result in error messages and possible crashes. To resolve this try reinstalling the program and if that doesn't work then try contacting the developer because he or she missed a library.

This issue can happen due to just simple human errors. It could be just an incorrect password you typed, you forgot your actually password or even just as simple as accidentally clicking "Caps Lock". This allows you to see what you are typing in case your keyboard is set to another locale, for example. Check the network cable is securely plugged in at both ends. Why try this? Because the laptop could be connected to the school network and usually you would need it connected to the internet to access all usernames and passwords such as CNET Login Portal. Try logging on to another computer to see if your account works on that. Ask someone else to logon to your computer to see if they can or not. Laptop not connecting to WiFiWhat is this issue?
This issue involves the use of software and also hardware. The hardware side of this is possibly the network adapter itself inside the laptop could be broken or malfunctioning. The software side of this could be missing the driver files or updates or the adapter drivers could be out dated. Another thing could be that the laptop doesn't even have a network adapter inside and just supports Ethernet. Although this is extremely rare and only in old laptops it is still possible to have a laptop without WiFi connectivity available. Resolving this issue To resolve this issue first off make sure you have a network adapter inside the laptop. After making sure there is one you should check for driver updates for this specific adapter. Most of the time it should be detected and automatically updated. Once it is updated you may have to restart to ensure WiFi connectivity is working. If you can't update the driver then you could plug in an Ethernet cable into the laptop then update it that way then you could use it without the cable. |
What is this issue?
A program may crash while you're using the laptop. This may or may not respond to the Ctrl+Alt+Del process. Sometimes restarting the system could help. However, if you're getting the infamous Blue Screen Of Death, then you have a major issue on your hands as the OS “Operating System” itself has crashed. A laptop could crash due to excessive usage and the system itself overheating. This could be an issue from the program code itself or possibly a hardware issue such as not enough RAM or disk space etc. If your laptop or computer keeps crashing you could restore the system to an earlier time and date. To do this you must go into your system's control panel and selecting system restore. Compatibility IssuesWhat is this issue?
Laptop models and software versions are changing by the hour and sometimes older systems and configurations are simply not compatible with newer ones, leading to reduced system capability. Resolving this issue Well, this can be really challenging when it comes to compatibility issues with games or programs. Resolving compatibility issues would mainly rely on the program or game developer. For an example you could try changing the compatibility issues around by right selecting the program and then clicking properties then “Compatibility”. This will show up
